(Bridgeport, CT. — November, 2021) When the Connecticut Cobras take to the court to start the 2022 The Basketball League (TBL) season next March, the men’s professional basketball team will be competing at the Harvey Hubbell Gym on the University of Bridgeport for a series of home games the organization announced.

“We are extremely excited to partner with this prestigious university and staple in the community of Bridgeport, Connecticut for our home games,” said Team Market Owner, Anthony Hill.

“Playing at the University of Bridgeport gives our team legitimacy as we enter our inaugural season in the TBL and allows a great location to continue building our fanbase with communities in Bridgeport and throughout Connecticut.”

The Cobras are currently scheduled to host 10 home games at Hubbell Gym on the University of Bridgeport during the 2022 TBL season, with more home dates potentially added as the season progresses. Now home to the Connecticut Cobras, Hubbell Gym boasts a 850-seat facility that also features the Division 2 UB Purple Knights men’s and women’s basketball teams and the women’s volleyball team. In addition, the building houses the main athletic offices, the main athletic training room, equipment room, seven locker rooms, Arnold Hall of Fame Room, and the Abner Sports Performance Center.

“To be able to host men’s professional basketball at the University of Bridgeport is the chance to both unite our communities through basketball across Connecticut and help add another pillar in the revitalization of the City of Bridgeport,” explained Connecticut Cobras’ President of Business Operations, Briana Brown.

“It means so much that the Cobras will be able to bring entertainment, a positive family atmosphere, and a competitive sports team that Connecticut can be proud of when the TBL season tips-off in Hubbell Gym at the University of Bridgeport.”

The Basketball League (TBL) was founded in 2017 and held their inaugural season in 2018. The league already has 29 teams with 19 more — including the expansion Connecticut Cobras — set to begin play in 2022. The Cobras have spent the past couple of months preparing for the upcoming TBL season by conducting Player Tryouts and making roster selections in preparation for January and February’s start to camp.
